Flourishes has issued a Christmas Sketch challenge, in April :) So of course I HAD to play :) And here is my take on their sketch :)
I used Reindeer from Flourishes "Sleigh Ride" & "Flourishes Christmas" stamp sets. The Reindeer are colored in with Tombows, cut out and popped up on popdots. I used paper from Fancy Pants Happy Together "Forever" and used both sides of the sheet (Creamy & a Blue pattern), with some gold accent paper. I cut out the center with a Spellbinders "Circle" die, and the flourished "frame" is the Spellbinders "Decorative Window" die. I used a Spellbinders "Labels Twenty One" die behind the decorative flourish die and a Spellbinders "Classic Lace" die for the decorative bottom edge.
The inspiration for this sketch is actually the two sets I used from Flourishes (Sleigh Ride & Flourishes Christmas). I really liked how the Reindeer were both looking up and that I could make them each other on a card. I also, really wanted to try making a moon over their heads to give them something to look at. Because I didn't find and dark blue papers in my stash, it ended up being sponged in lighter, more like dusk, but I actually like it this way :)
This is such an elegant card Amanda. Love the gold accents. :)

ReplyDeleteOh, I always wanted to use these two reindeer together. Aren't they beautiful? And Flourishes has retired both these sets, more's the pity. Love what you did with the sketch!
