Sometimes life gives you "Lemons" and your just so surprised, you don't know exactly what to do with them. This card is exactly that, for me. I'm going through a "lemon" situation, and I am just praying God will see us through, Lord willing :)
I have had an idea for a few months now, about making a card with a window with something in it, that when you open up the card, the item/center piece is on the inside too. But couldn't figure out how to create it, but after some experimenting I think I came close to what I had envisioned.
I used Flourishes lemon tree from "Lemons Life & Love" and the sentiment from Flourishes "Berry Sweet". They work very well together and express my feelings exactly!
I painted the lemon tree in with my Tombows and "Peeled Paint" Distress Ink,then placed it on popdots, to give some dimension from the back of the card. The paper is Basic Grey Sweet Pea "Double Cream" with some chocolate cardstock matting. I sponged some "Tea Dye" & "Frayed Burlap" Distress Ink, around the edges to give it an aged look. A Spellbinders Long Rectangle die was used to cut out the window. The finishing touch was some KaiserCraft "Latte Flourish" pearls.
Pardon the double stamped image, it just didn't stamp right the first time - bummer!! Don't you just hate that? :( I usually stamp out my stuff before putting it in the card, but I was so worried that my lemon tree would be crooked, I added it in first. Oh well :)
I submitted this card for Creative_Sketches "Anything Goes" Challenge, today, and Flourishes "Use Pearls" challenge, this week, on their blog.
Have a great weekend and have a Blessed New Year!!! :)

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I want to say "WOW!" about your cranberry wreath! I was looking forward to the day you might make that, and it turned out so beautiful! My comments never seem to go through on the Flourishes blog, so I wanted to be sure and tell you here. Now, as for today's card -- you always come up with something extraordinary. This is simply wonderful! Love that little lemon tree. Happy new year, Amanda!
