Sunny Sweet Peas

I love planting things and pretend I can actually garden. But unfortunately for as much as I love to garden, I have a blackrooted thumb!!! I'm speaking the truth, I just can't get anything to grow, for as hard as I try. But every year I faithfully buy a few plants (a few less each year), and try again, hoping maybe this will be the year that I get lucky! :) So this year I bought Snap Peas, Acorn Squash and Green Bean plants, hoping that I can have some fresh and tasty veggies later this summer.

The Flourishes Sweet Peas are my inspiration for this card, since Flourishes doesn't have a Squash or Green Bean stamp set...yet - LOL :)

I used Flourishes "Sweet Peas" stamp set, colored in with Tombows and Old Olive SU marker, cut out and popped up on popdots. I used Spellbinders Labels #18 for my mat under the Peas image, sponged in with "Scattered Straw" and "Dried Marigold" Distress Inks. I used Cosmo Cricket and Creative Imaginations papers. The edge punch is from Martha Stewart called "Modern Garland" that I added pearls to.

I love, love yellow! I love it so much that out of the Six rooms in my house, 4 of them are yellow! It's such a happy, happy color that makes me smile and feel cozy. That being said, it's one of the hardest colors to create cards with, in my opinion. It has so many subtle color nuances and variations that they can be hard to match. So I am very happy with how this card turned out :)

  1. Yellow is such a fin and cheery color. This is beautiful Amanda. Love the tone on tone color. Hopefully you will have better luck this year. I had Sweep Peas and I just threw the seeds in the ground and they grew wonderfully. One tip...treat them like children. All flowers need daily attention. :)

  6. Such wonderful use of golden yellows :) I used to have a bright yellow bathroom, but after a while it got to be a little to much to greet me every morning :) LOL. So not a morning person! Gorgeous detailing on this card Amanda!
