A Creative Journey With Melissa August Release!

Good morning!! Welcome to the monthly NEW RELEASES for A Creative Journey with Melissa. Every SECOND WEDNESDAY of the month we will be featuring our newly released stamp sets. I am a Design Team member for A Creative Journey with Melissa and I am so excited to be able to share these creations with you today.

The new stamp releases this month are the Awareness Ribbon Stamp Set #3 - Ready for a Fight and the Awareness Ribbon Stamp set #4 - Autism Awareness. We are also highlighting our amazingly cute and versatile Everyday Alphabet and Everyday Alphabet Outline stamp sets throughout this hop. I am highlighting the Autism Awareness set for this blog hop, and this one is really near and dear to my heart. It is a beautiful set and has some very nice and appropriate sentiments.

My youngest has Autism.  I love her very much, and how her older sister does, too. When they play together, they have some pretty fun adventures. Sometimes it's nice to know there are others out there thinking of us, which is why I am so excited about the Autism Awareness set!

Here is the first card I made.

I used A Creative Journey's Autism Awareness set that I colored in with Copic Sketch markers and fussy cut out with a craft knife, then popped it up with popdots. I edged my Kraft cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black so it would stand out a bit and give it a shadow effect. After edging my top layer of cardstock, I added some popdots under that to give more depth to it so it would stand out even more. Then I stamped my sentiment in Tuxedo Black and added some Black Kaiser Pearls to finish the look.

Here is my second card using the Autism Awareness stamp set.

I used the Autism Awareness set and colored it in with my Copic markers, then fussy cut them out and popping the upright ones up on popdots and leaving the upside down ones firmly attached flat to my card. I added some scored lines to add some interest and popped my white layered cardstock up on popdots.

Please be sure to hop along to each participant, follow their blog and answer the question correctly that they have posted to qualify to win the prizes. The prizes include:
  • The Awareness Ribbon Stamp Set #3 - Ready for a Fight
  • The Awareness Ribbon Stamp Set #4 - Autism Awareness
  • Sizzix Embossing folder set
My question is : What type of die cutting machine do you have if any?

  2. I have the cuttlebug, big kick and grand caliber die cutting machines, but I use the cuttlebug the most because it is small, light and easy to use.

  8. I have a Cricut and a Sizzix machine. I love Autistic children and have worked in the school system for many years from elementary to high school and just love each new stride they make in their lives. I have helped some learn to talk and some learn to control anger. I have helped them reach one goal after another. The children are so amazing. I had to give up my job due to my disability and I miss my job soooo much, so much that I could have cared less if I ever got a paycheck. I enjoyed also taking care of a high school student in her home on weekends while her mother worked she was the most aggressive child in the county but she and I worked so well together I rarely had issues with her as I learned her body language and what she wanted before she had a behavior to get whatever it was she wanted. I miss her most of all I was teaching her to scrapbook nd she has one AWESOME Album. I moved out of state and now never see her, people would see us together and think she was my daughter we were a team for sure. I hope everyone supports Autism Awareness and I just know you are very blessed to have been chosen to have your daughter. Hugs to you Mom for taking such good care of your gift from God.

  11. P.S. Forgot to answer your question. I have the Cricut Expression, Cricut Explore and Silhouette Cameo. I love using them all and it all depends on exactly I want to make. However, I tend to use my Cameo more often than the others.
