June Beautiful Blossoms Challenge : A Little Hello

Hi Friends! Welcome back to my little blog, I'm glad you're here!

It's actually June, can you believe it?! The year is half over! And it's time for another monthly blog challenge. This month's photo is my favorite so far. So patriotic :)

I was so inspired by the Red, White & Blue, I made so many card attempts. I just couldn't get the right shades of reds and blues for my card without it looking so strongly garish. I really wanted it to be soft but distinctly Red, White & Blue.

I chose a stamp that I picked up at a local scrapbook store's stamping Garage Sale event. After I stamped out my image and colored it in, I diecut out the image with the corresponding die. I cut out some light blue background paper with a stitched rectangle die from MFT, and put it on some white cardstock cut out with MFT's Mini Scalloped die. I put some popdots under the image and placed it over the design paper and base. I cut out an oval piece of white cardstock and stamped out the sentiment.

I like how the card lightly touches on the red, white, and blue color requirements, but without it being so strong. My favorite kind of cards are the clean and simple kind :)

Thank you for joining us at Beautiful Blossoms this month and we can't wait to see you next time for a new challenge!!

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge : Sending Smiles

Hello and welcome back crafty Friends! I'm back with another fun blog challenge card. But first, I have some fun news. I joined Donna and the rest of the talented Beautiful Blossoms Blog Challenge Team! I'm so thrilled!

If you haven't heard of the Beautiful Blossoms blog challenges before, on the 15th of every month they offer a Floral Focused challenge. Easy Peasy, right? Exactly! Who doesn't love a good flower focus? I know I do :)

Here is the DT's February 2025 design challenge photo.

Beautiful, isn't it? I know I was inspired by it!

I chose Gina K's Poppy Garden Stamp that I colored in with Copics. After that, I cut out the image using Pink Fresh's Stitched Rectangles. I matted the main diecut image out onto some design paper from Simple Stories called Simple Vintage Life in Bloom. Then I used Lawn Fawn's Stitched Sentiment Banner's to cut out a banner out of vellum and stamped my sentiment from Flourishes (a beloved but now closed stamp company) Tulips stamp set.

Honestly, I took forever to find the perfect design paper for that card! I was obsessed with finding the perfect, but not too distracting, background color and print!

Thank you for visiting my blog today, and don't forget to join us over at the Beautiful Blossoms Challenge. I love to see your creations there and for you to see the other DT's inspirations, too!

Flourishes Free For All Friday!

Hello and welcome to a Flourishes Free For All Friday! It's so nice to see you back again, did you like Flourishes beautiful releases, last week? I really did, so I made a card with one of the new sets!

I loved the Tulips so much that I made another card with them.

I used the new Tulips set, stamping and embossing it in gold ink, then coloring it in with the Lenten Rose, Olive Green and Flesh Tones 2 Copic Collection. I fussy cut it out and popped it up on popdots on top of Clear Cover Cardstock, that I made into a cardbase. I embossed a piece of Classic White cardstock and using Scor-Tape, I adhered it to the Clear Cover Cardstock, stamping my sentiment in gold ink. I added a White ribbon, a Candy Pink button and some Iridescent String to embellish it all.

Come and visit with the rest of the team for more Friday Favorites!

Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful day!

The first time I'd ever seen a real tulip was in a bouquet my husband sent me when we were dating, and they were the most extraordinary pink I'd ever seen on a flower! So when I think of tulips, I think of those pretty pink ones, so I colored the single tulip like the bouquet I received.

I stamped out my Tulip image in Memento Rich Cocoa on Flourishes Classic White cardstock and chose not to heat emboss my image for a softer look. I colored my tulip in with Flourishes Lenten RoseGreen Grass and Olive Green Copic Collections. I cut out my image with Perfectly Pierced Victorian Ovals then matted it with Perfectly Pierced Classic Frames, to which I matted that with the largest Perfectly Pierced Victorian Ovals diecut. I placed all of my diecut layers on top of the large Romantic Rectangles and a Color Made Easy Pistachio cardstock to create my cardbase. I chose to use the Olive ribbon, a clear Sunflower button, some Metallic String and a diecut tag using the Tailor-Made Classic Tags die.
Because this is Day 1 of our release, I got carried away and made two cards, and this is my second one.
I stamped the Tulips out in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored them in with the EvergreenSunflower, and Beehive Copic Collections, then fussy cut it all out. I placed it on popdots over a Perfectly Pierced Frame diecut, matting it with paper from Teresa Collins and Sunflower cardstock from Color Made Easy. I used some Golden Rod ribbon from the Color Made Easy line, two Leaf Pins, an Ivory ButtonIvory Jute Twine and a Tailor Made Classic Tag, for my embellishments.
