My favorite project of 2012 I made was a simple card that I just love.
I used Flourishes "Father's Day" sentiment and image, stamped in Memento "Tuxedo Black" onto the Tailor-Made Classic Keyhole die. I stitched around the canvas paper then added a square lace applique, crocheted flower and a metal button that I added to the middle of it. To finish off the card I added a ribbon and some black rhinestone bling from Flourishes "Viola" 123 Create Kit.

Play along with us and you could win a prize package valued at $50!! The prize pack will include a set or two and some other goodies as well. What a nice way to start the New Year off! Have fun and good luck! Please visit the Timeless Tuesday team blogs to see their favorite projects of 2012.

Timeless Tuesday: Deck The Tree!!

Good morning Flourishes friends!! Did you know we've reached our 200th challenge mark?! I know, I can't believe it either!! I'm thrilled that it landed on this week, the week before Christmas and when we have a great challenge, too!! This week, Maki, our hostess, has challenged us to: Deck The Tree!! All you need to do is make an ornament or any 3D project that is decorated on a Christmas tree! Sounds like fun, right?

I thought hard on making an ornament that was unique and something that you would notice on a Christmas tree. I created a lit/night light ornament for a tree that you can see both in the day light and lit at night.
I used Flourishes "Vintage Postcard" stamp set, stamped in Memento Black Tuxedo ink and colored in with Copics on vellum paper. I cut the picture down to size and placed it into a frame. I hot glued some Teal Velvet Ribbon to the frame so I could hang it, then I added a tea light flameless candle to illuminate the picture in the frame.
Here you can see the tea light that I hot glued to the back side of my illuminated and framed ornament.
This is what it looks like illuminated without the Christmas lights on, in the dark. I wish you could see it in person, it really glows beautifully all over and not just in the one area in the photo.

Just a tip or two, if you are going to try to color in on Vellum, don't try to shade with them or the colors will smear all over and create a mess on your image. And if you do try to layer your colors, let each layer dry before adding more color and don't recolor over a color you just laid down, or it will "separate".  So for instance, I layered the B05 Copic twice on each side of the vellum paper, to achieve the deep evening sky color. So I would recommend coloring on both sides of the vellum to get some really saturated colors.

I used the following Copic Sketch Collections to color my ornament in:

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday: Non Traditional Christmas!!

Good morning Flourishes Friends! It's time for another Flourishes weekly challenge. This week Ally is challenging us to create a: Non Traditional Christmas! All you have to do is create a Christmas/holiday themed card using a non-traditional color theme. So NO red or green this time!

Ok, so this sounded easy when I first saw the challenge, but while I was playing around with my stamps and colors, I really had the hardest time with it! Who knew? I love mixing things up, but Christmas is one of those holidays that I can only think of reds, greens silvers or golds -LOL :)
So this is what I came up with. I kinda "cheated" because bronze is a slight variation of gold! he he he :)

I used the sentiment from Flourishes "Poinsettia and Pine" that I stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa ink on to Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock. I matted it with a metallic bronze cardstock and added a Prima flower, both of which I just found out that Flourishes is out of. The layered dies are a Parisian Accent, Labels # 23, Oval and Matting Basics A and B. I sponged the edges with Antique Linen and Old Paper Distress Inks, and I used a punch inside the window for some interesting details, then added a Want To Scrap Fancy Brackets in black next to the flower.

Timeless Tuesday: Altered Christmas

Good morning Flourishes Friends! It's inching closer and closer to Christmas, are you ready? This week we are challenging you to : An Altered Christmas!  Create Anything That Isn't a Card for Christmas (Decoration, A Treat Item, A Banner, A Gift, ect.)!

In my family we are either coffee or tea drinkers and I wanted to create a simple gift for everyone with a little variety. I made two kinds of cups, and in each of them there are two different kinds of teas, a hot cocoa packet, a Starbucks Via, a Nonni's Chocolate Turtle Biscotti and 2 or 3 Ferrero Rocher Chocolates.

For my first cup I used Flourishes "Apple of My Eye" for the cider cup image, and a sentiment from Flourishes "Vintage Postcard" set onto Classic White cardstock. I colored my image in with Copic markers, then I created a small tag and tied that on to my cup.
I used the following Copic Collections:

For my second cup, I used Flourishes "Peace and Joy" image that I cut out with my Silhouette Cameo using the Peace and Joy cut file. Then I colored it in with Letraset's "Raspberry" and "Sangria" watercolor markers. I created a tag with some dies and tied it on with some ribbon.

I really had fun creating these cups for my friends and family and I hope they like their Christmas gifts :)

PageMaps!

Do you ever crave inspiration and look to sketches for help?  Some of the ladies from the Flourishes Design Teams and Becky Fleck of PageMaps are teaming up to give you some inspiration! Becky always has the best sketches! Every time I am in a rut with my cards, I pull out one of her sketches and it always gets my creative juices going!

For more info on the cards and sketches you can visit the PageMaps website here: PageMaps

Here is the sketch that Becky sent to use for my inspiration.

I love this sketch and I had many ideas, but I decided to create a card with a large stamped area, like a picture window. I made my card into a 5x7 size so I could fit my multiple stamped images in to create my scene.

I chose to use Flourishes "Field of Poppies" that I masked off and stamped multiple images of it onto Flourishes Classic White cardstock. I colored the flowers in with Copic markers then dry embossed a line around the whole image. I sponged in some clouds with "Tumbled Glass" Distress Ink, then I framed the whole card with Color Made Easy "Poppy" cardstock. Flourishes "Basque Red" ribbon from Color Made Easy was added with a sentiment from "Tiny Flowers and Tags" on the Tailor-Made Classic Tags die. Under the Basque Red ribbon is one of the Flourishes new "Perfectly Pierced Window Die" that I placed "Ivory Scalloped Guipure" lace under with a Zva "Corner Rhinestones" on top of it.
Here are the Copic Collections that I used to color the poppies:

Just one more thing before you go, the Gamblers sale at Flourishes is now up to 35% off on the Sale Page! This means all the items on our Sale Page are marked down to 35% off retail! I've seen the Sale Page and there are some Crazy Good deals! Items do sell quickly, so don't miss out!

Timeless Tuesday: Silver or Gold

Good morning Flourishes friends! Did you have a nice Thanksgiving? Are you ready for Christmas? It's right around the corner and to get ready for it, our hostess Cindy is challenging us to create a card with : Silver or Gold!

I love to decorate with both colors for Christmas, but I decided to use Gold, for my card color focus.

I used Flourishes "Poinsettia and Pine" image with Flourishes "Paperwhites" sentiment, stamped onto Flourishes Classic White cardstock in gold ink. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the Poinsettia and Pine cut file shape, that I stamped on to and popped up on pop dots. Then I used a punch with a few diecuts, ribbon, a paper doily, and a metallic gold design paper to create and finish my card.

Timeless Tuesday : Happy Challenge

Good morning fellow Flourishes friends!! Are you ready for another fun challenge? This week our hostess is Broni and she is challenging us to create a: Happy Card!

I really love this challenge, because there are so many ways to interpret it! So I decided to create a card that shows what I love and what makes me happy. Our family loves to travel and I have been to much of Italy, also visiting Florence where the colors of the landscape are absolutely stunning and fabulous! I hope my card reflects the feel of the culture and my love of all things Italian.

I used Flourishes new "Dreaming of Florence" stamp that I stamped onto watercolor paper, then colored in with Letraset Aqua Markers.

Grazie per la visita e buona giornata!

Timeless Tuesday : Go Natural

Good morning Flourishes Friends! It's Release Week again at Flourishes and they have a fun challenge and a Release Week sneak peak of the new "Inside and Out Just Because" set! The Flourishes Senior Design Team will be joining us this week, which is a real treat!

First of all, do you want to see a quick peak of the new set? Here it is!

Isn't it pretty? I know I'll be using it for everyone of those Just Because cards I always seem to need.

This weeks hostess is Denise, and she has challenged us to: Create A Natural Card from her inspiration challenge photo.

I love the soft cream hues of the photo, so I pulled out my new creamy canvas paper a nice texture and versatility.

I used Flourishes "Inside and Out Just Because" stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa ink on top of canvas paper. I stitched around the canvas paper then added a square lace applique, some crochet & paper flowers, ribbon and a pearl strand. I placed that on top of some kraft paper and added a punched border to finish.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday: Silhouette Images

Good morning Flourishes friends! It's time for another challenging Timeless Tuesday! This week Maki is our hostess and she is challenging us to : Use a Silhouette Image!!

I love the silhouette images but for as much as I love them, I can't decide on what paper I can show them off better! So when I found some canvas paper in my local scrapbooking store, I knew it was perfect for this challenge!

I really love this card stamped on canvas paper, and everything all neutral colored so much so that next weeks card I stamped on the canvas paper, too.

Good Morning Timeless Tuesday friends! It's time for another fun challenge, and this week I am challenging you to: Create a Birthday Card or Project!! It's as simple and easy as that! Who doesn't need a birthday card at the last moment? I know I do :)

I used Flourishes new "Inside and Out Happy" stamp set. This is my new favorite go to set with all of it's easy and quick sentiments for any occasion!

I stamped Flourishes "Inside and Out Happy" birthday sentiment out on Flourishes "Classic White" cardstock that I cut out with a diecut. I cut some pennants from Spellbinders "Nested Pennants" dies with papers from the Flourishes 123 "Viola" Kit, which the ribbon and rhinestones are also from.

Splitcoaststampers Product Review: Xyron

I've had a love/hate affair with adhesives since I started scrapping. The very first adhesive I bought was from Walmart, from a company called Vario. It was so expensive ($8 a refill), and it wouldn't even stick properly to my cards when it got hot out. Then Walmart decided to get rid of their scrapbooking sections, so I couldn't get it anyway. Ugh. I got fed up and started what seemed like an endless adhesive search. And I just about gave up when the ladies at Splitcoast Stampers decided to review the Xyron Permanent Glue Stick and Xyron Mini Sticker Maker. I gave it a try and I am giving my full review on the SCS Product Forum: HERE.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday: Winter

Good morning! It's time for yet another fun filled Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge! This week Cindy is challenging us to create a : Winter Inspired Card or Project! This is one of those fun challenges for me, because I absolutely love winter!

I decided to pull out one of this month's new releases called "Snow Day" and create a playful kind of card.

I used Flourishes "Snow Day" stamped on paper from Flourishes 123 "Viola" Kit. I stamped the image out another piece of paper from the Viola Kit to create the ice skate's "pom-poms". Then I used a Tailor-Made Classic Keyhole Die to frame up the skates. The lace, ribbon and green rhinestone are also from the Viola 123 Kit, then I used V04 Copic from the Flourishes Violet Copic Collection, to color the laces in and complete the look.
Here is the Copic Collection I used for this card:

TIP: Don't be afraid to mix mediums and look for coloring inspirations in other places. I was in my local Micheals two years ago and found tiny bottles of Model Car paint for 25 cents each! I picked some up and used the Gold paint to highlight the skate's blades for some interest. It has a great metallic shine that you just can't get from markers.

All this month I am using Flourishes "Viola" 123 Kit. With all of it's versatility and embellishments, you will want one too! I personally loved all of the beautiful papers and trims :)

I used Flourishes new "Naturally Merry" set  stamped on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock and colored in with Copics. The patterned papers are from Flourishes "Viola" 123 Kit and I used a Kraft cardstock accent.

I used the following Copic Collections:
