The Craft and Hobby Association (CHA)Convention is located in Anaheim, California and super close to Disneyland.  We are looking forward to learning some great new things! One of the BEST things about this convention is you get to see the latest and greatest of the Craft and Hobby Industry are shown BEFORE they are released to the public! If you are creative, you are going to LOVE IT! It will feel like you are right there with us! To check out pictures from last year, go to our Photo Album. You will see some AMAZING THINGS and we can't wait to share them with you! If you are interested in finding out if you qualify to be a CHA member visit CHA.

I am a Design Team member for A Creative Journey with Melissa and I am thrilled to be able to share these creations with you today. The new stamp releases are the Sentiments for all Occasions and the Sign Language Numbers - American Sign Language stamp sets. We are also highlighting our amazingly cute and versatile Everyday Alphabet stamp sets throughout this hop as well. I am highlighting the Sentiments For All Occasions stamp set for this blog hop.

Here are the projects I have created using the Sentiments For All Occasions stamp set.

Because Christmas is coming up, I created gifts and items quickly whipped up as gifts with the stamp sets.
My first project is a Tea Purse gift that has pockets in the inside and slipped in two tea packets for my friend's Christmas gift. I stamped the Sentiments For All Occasions stamp on the bottom of my tea carrier, under my square diecut.

My next project is a Gift Card Holder I dressed in a Shabby Chic style for my Mom, who loves anything Shabby Chic!

I stamped the Sentiments For All Occasions sentiment on a tag right where the receivers name goes. And when you pull the top up, you see this.

A Creative Journey With Melissa : October Stamp Release!!

Welcome to the monthly NEW RELEASES for A Creative Journey with Melissa. Every SECOND WEDNESDAY of the month we will be featuring our newly released stamp sets! I am thrilled to be able to share these creations with you today. The new stamp releases are the You’re Snow Wonderful and Coffee Is My Liquid Therapy. We are also highlighting our amazingly cute and versatile Everyday Alphabet stamp sets throughout this hop as well.
I am showcasing You're Snow Wonderful and Coffee Is My Liquid Therapy stamp sets.  Here are my projects and directions.

Coffee Is My Liquid Therapy  - Red Cup : I stamped out my cup from Coffee Is My Liquid Therapy and colored it in with my Copic markers, then I cut it out and used my Copic blender to add random polka dots. After cutting it out, I added some popdots (foam squares to pop it up) and placed it on diecut from JustRite called Antique Tag 1 Die, paired with a Spellbinders Parisian die behind it.

You're Snow Wonderful - Tag : I cut out the swirly tag in Kraft paper, using my Silhouette Cameo, with a design I found on the Silhouette America site. After cutting my tag, I stamped the snowman from You're Snow Wonderful set and colored everything in with my Copic markers. After coloring everything in, I cut all my images out with my craft knife and added them to my tag, using glue, adhesives and square foam dots to my snowman image, so it would add dimension to my tag, instead of being flat. I added it to my gift cup with a green satin ribbon, tied in a bow.
Coffee Is My Liquid Therapy - Java Birthday Frame : I colored my cup image in with my Copic markers and cut it out using my craft knife. I cut down a piece of Flourishes Classic White paper and stamped a star image from the Coffee Is My Liquid Therapy set, in Memento Desert Sands ink, then added my sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Finally, I added some adhesive to the back of my cut out cup and smoothed it onto the decorated paper background and attached it to my frame.

Please be sure to hop along to each Design Team Member's blog, become a follower their blog and answer the question correctly that they have posted to qualify to win the prizes.

The prizes include:
You're Snow Wonderful
Coffee is my liquid therapy
Sizzix Embossing Folder set

My question is : What Is You're Favorite Stamp Set From The October Release?

A Creative Journey With Melissa August Release!

Good morning!! Welcome to the monthly NEW RELEASES for A Creative Journey with Melissa. Every SECOND WEDNESDAY of the month we will be featuring our newly released stamp sets. I am a Design Team member for A Creative Journey with Melissa and I am so excited to be able to share these creations with you today.

The new stamp releases this month are the Awareness Ribbon Stamp Set #3 - Ready for a Fight and the Awareness Ribbon Stamp set #4 - Autism Awareness. We are also highlighting our amazingly cute and versatile Everyday Alphabet and Everyday Alphabet Outline stamp sets throughout this hop. I am highlighting the Autism Awareness set for this blog hop, and this one is really near and dear to my heart. It is a beautiful set and has some very nice and appropriate sentiments.

My youngest has Autism.  I love her very much, and how her older sister does, too. When they play together, they have some pretty fun adventures. Sometimes it's nice to know there are others out there thinking of us, which is why I am so excited about the Autism Awareness set!

Here is the first card I made.

I used A Creative Journey's Autism Awareness set that I colored in with Copic Sketch markers and fussy cut out with a craft knife, then popped it up with popdots. I edged my Kraft cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black so it would stand out a bit and give it a shadow effect. After edging my top layer of cardstock, I added some popdots under that to give more depth to it so it would stand out even more. Then I stamped my sentiment in Tuxedo Black and added some Black Kaiser Pearls to finish the look.

Here is my second card using the Autism Awareness stamp set.

I used the Autism Awareness set and colored it in with my Copic markers, then fussy cut them out and popping the upright ones up on popdots and leaving the upside down ones firmly attached flat to my card. I added some scored lines to add some interest and popped my white layered cardstock up on popdots.

Please be sure to hop along to each participant, follow their blog and answer the question correctly that they have posted to qualify to win the prizes. The prizes include:
  • The Awareness Ribbon Stamp Set #3 - Ready for a Fight
  • The Awareness Ribbon Stamp Set #4 - Autism Awareness
  • Sizzix Embossing folder set
My question is : What type of die cutting machine do you have if any?

Hello, Good morning and welcome to A Creative Journey's July Blog Hop Day 2! Isn't this exciting?! Have you seen some pretty ideas and creations that jump started your creative juices? I know I have and I hope you have to!

I really loved the Everyday Alphabet set so much by A Creative Journey, I used it on today's creation, too. I decided to go really bold and frame out my card by matting it all in black cardstock to really highlight the lettering.

I used A Creative Journey's Everyday Alphabet set stamped in black and framed out my image in black cardstock. I colored the flowers and leaves from Petals For You in Copics and added the to my card. I colored some pearls with my R27 Copic marker and added them around my frame for a splash of color.

A Creative Journey July Blog Hop!!

Good morning crafty friends! I am back from a rather long absence to participate in my first blog hop with A Creative Journey with Melissa stamps!! I'm pretty excited and I hope you are too and ready to get inspired!

This release I am working with the other DT ladies to show off some pretty gorgeous and diverse stamp sets. Today I am going to show two of the stamp sets! They are the Everyday Alphabet Uppercase and Emoticon & the Everyday Lowercase and Numbers sets.

I made a soft yet cheery card to really make the yellow flowers and ribbon pop and really set off the inked alphabet.

I used A Creative Journey's Petals For You to inked in Stampin Up Sage ink, for the leaves and  Everyday Alphabet Uppercase and Emoticon set with the Lowercase set too,  inked in CTMH Gold Rush ink. I layered and matted everything on some scrap polka dot paper, and Kraft cardstock, then added some faux stitching around the patterned paper edges. To finish the card I added a golden yellow ribbon, some swirling bling and rhinestones for some pizzaz.

A Creative Journey

As you can see life has caught up with me and since I'm not on any design teams anymore, my creative drive has all but left me for a bit. Mixed with life and keeping up with my kids schooling, my card crafting has really taken a back burner in my life.

But I recently joined a nice and friendly design team for a stamp company called A Creative Journey with Melissa. Here is a link to their online store and blog: A Creative Journey with Melissa.
It's a 6 month DT commitment and I'm glad I joined because it really pulls me out of my creative shell and get to what I love: Creating Cards!

I chose to work with a set called Petals For You.

I chose to score my own lines on ivory paper with my Martha Stewart Score Board. I used a My Mind's Eye "Sunshine" paper pad for my patterned paper and back cardstock for my matting. I used Memento and Close to My Heart inks to stamp up my Petals For You set, and added colored my rhinestones in with my Y17 Copic marker to bring some pizzaz and color to the card.

You can find the Petals For You in the A Creative Journey's store front HERE.

I hope to have more items to show in the future (*crossing my fingers*) so stick around and I hope to dazzle you some more!
Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a great day and come back again soon!
