Sunday Morning Flourishes

Hello again, I'm back with another Flourishes card that I kept very simple and sweet.
Remember those cool shaped cards that were all the rage a few years ago? Yep, I decided to go "retro" and make one and just have fun with it.

I picked Flourishes Garden Picks stamp set and stamped it on Flourishes Classic White cardstock. I colored the flowers in very softly with my Copics, then fussy cut it out and set it aside. I stamped Flourishes Love and Lace as my circular background, in Memento Desert Sand on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock I diecut out into a circle. I matted the diecut circle with Spellbinders Picot Circles die, using a very light and soft pink cardstock, to give it a lacy and feminine feel.
I attached my base to my top half and I cut out a scalloped circle shape in a soft pink cardstock, attaching it to my base for decoration. Then I added a fancy tag shape so that my top could have a "catch point" so my card wouldn't flop closed. Then I stamped the flower images in Memento Desert Sand on the fancy tag piece, adding my sentiment in the middle. I finished off my card with some pearls and swirl bling, keeping it very simple and not fussy.

I hope this card inspires you to try another retro card shape or style!

As promised I am also announcing my blog candy winner from Flourishes Release Week! The winner is: Liz Williams!!! Liz, please email me at : havonfamily@yahoo.com to claim your prize!!

Happy Birthday To You!

Hello crafting friends! It's time for another Flourishes card post.

Today I made a universal card created from two Flourishes stamp sets.

I chose to use Flourishes Peacock and Sentimental Favorites stamp sets. I colored the peacock with Copics and fussy cut it out. I found a decorative acetate photo piece and attached it to my DP, then popped it all up on Popdots. I cut out a window using Flourishes Tailor-Made Classic Frames die, so you could see the sentiment under the front half of the card. I used some old lace I found at a garage sale and some May Arts Silk Ribbon in Ivory to add a bow. I finished the whole look with some rhinestone bling to pull some of the peacock's color around.

If you like what you see and you would like any of these two stamps or others, you're in luck, Flourishes is having a blow out sale!! You can get Flourishes past stamp sets, but you need to get them soon, because they are Retiring and going away on July 31st!! Don't miss this opportunity to get some fresh sets for your crafting needs. Every stamp set is on sale marked down, ready to go! Flourishes Irish Blessing

Good morning crafting friends, it's time for my first Flourishes Free For All Friday! I am so excited to show you what I created.

I used Flourishes Cottage Home's Irish Blessing sentiment, that I stamped on a tag I'd saved. I added my card base in Flourishes Classic Cardstock in Taupe. After attaching my base, I used May Arts Champagne and Ivory ribbon in a double bow that I added on my card, and then hat pins and a flower to complete the card.

I try never to stick with one look or style, but if you had to ask what style I love, it would be shabby chic. With that in mind, I had to create a shabby chic card after finding this lovely card from a tag that came with an order of crinkled seam binding ribbon!

I love reusing packaging and things in unexpected ways when crafting. You never know what you will create or come up with. I'd love to hear from you in the comments section when you have used an item in a unique way!

As always come again and have a great crafting weekend!

Good morning crafty friends! I am back from a rather long absence to participate in my first blog hop with A Creative Journey with Melissa stamps!! I'm pretty excited and I hope you are too and ready to get inspired!

This release I am working with the other DT ladies to show off some pretty gorgeous and diverse stamp sets. Today I am going to show two of the stamp sets! They are the Everyday Alphabet Uppercase and Emoticon & the Everyday Lowercase and Numbers sets.

I made a soft yet cheery card to really make the yellow flowers and ribbon pop and really set off the inked alphabet.

I used A Creative Journey's Petals For You to inked in Stampin Up Sage ink, for the leaves and  Everyday Alphabet Uppercase and Emoticon set with the Lowercase set too,  inked in CTMH Gold Rush ink. I layered and matted everything on some scrap polka dot paper, and Kraft cardstock, then added some faux stitching around the patterned paper edges. To finish the card I added a golden yellow ribbon, some swirling bling and rhinestones for some pizzaz.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday: Non Traditional Christmas!!

Good morning Flourishes Friends! It's time for another Flourishes weekly challenge. This week Ally is challenging us to create a: Non Traditional Christmas! All you have to do is create a Christmas/holiday themed card using a non-traditional color theme. So NO red or green this time!

Ok, so this sounded easy when I first saw the challenge, but while I was playing around with my stamps and colors, I really had the hardest time with it! Who knew? I love mixing things up, but Christmas is one of those holidays that I can only think of reds, greens silvers or golds -LOL :)
So this is what I came up with. I kinda "cheated" because bronze is a slight variation of gold! he he he :)

I used the sentiment from Flourishes "Poinsettia and Pine" that I stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa ink on to Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock. I matted it with a metallic bronze cardstock and added a Prima flower, both of which I just found out that Flourishes is out of. The layered dies are a Parisian Accent, Labels # 23, Oval and Matting Basics A and B. I sponged the edges with Antique Linen and Old Paper Distress Inks, and I used a punch inside the window for some interesting details, then added a Want To Scrap Fancy Brackets in black next to the flower.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday: Birthdays!

Good Morning Timeless Tuesday friends! It's time for another fun challenge, and this week I am challenging you to: Create a Birthday Card or Project!! It's as simple and easy as that! Who doesn't need a birthday card at the last moment? I know I do :)

I used Flourishes new "Inside and Out Happy" stamp set. This is my new favorite go to set with all of it's easy and quick sentiments for any occasion!

I stamped Flourishes "Inside and Out Happy" birthday sentiment out on Flourishes "Classic White" cardstock that I cut out with a diecut. I cut some pennants from Spellbinders "Nested Pennants" dies with papers from the Flourishes 123 "Viola" Kit, which the ribbon and rhinestones are also from.

All this month I am using Flourishes "Viola" 123 Kit. With all of it's versatility and embellishments, you will want one too! I personally loved all of the beautiful papers and trims :)

Page Maps

Good Morning fellow crafters!! Have you ever just wanted to find a good sketch when your in a crafting slump? Well, Flourishes, Becky Fleck and Page Maps are teaming up to offer you a nice challenging sketch to kick start your creative juices, again!

When I saw this sketch I got excited to try something I had been wanting to do; incorporate a pleated banner. It's been an idea I've been playing around with and wanted to see if it would work.

I chose to feature Flourishes "Life Lines" on a machine stitched paper from My Mind's Eye, to which I added a lace doily that I placed a Spellbinders "Damask Motifs" diecut in Kraft cardstock. I placed a Prima flower on top of the diecut, then placed some bling on it. I punched a decorative border on some cardstock and used my scoring board to score it. After that I punched some holes in it and threaded a ribbon through it then attached it to my card.

I hope you are enjoying the Flourishes and PageMaps team up and are re-inspired to create something beautiful this weekend! I can't wait to see what everyone else has created! :)
Have a great weekend and have fun creating!!

Timeless Tuesday Pick A Letter

Good morning and welcome to another Timeless Tuesday challenge!
This weeks hostess is Maki and she is asking us to pick a letter of the alphabet and use at least three supplies/elements that start with the alphabet letter you picked. For example, if you pick "B", make your creation with "B"rads, "B"uttons, "B"ow, color "B"lue, designer papers by "B"asic Grey and so on.

I chose "C" in honor of my wonderful husband :)
Here are my "C's": Cherries, Circle, Cardstock and created a "CAS" (Clean-and-Simple) Card

I used Flourishes "Peaches and Cherries" I colored in and cut out with my craft knife and popped up on popdots. I used Flourishes "Classic White" cardstock that I embossed with a Spellbinders "Flourish", then placed my cherries on top of it. I added my sentiment and some bling to finish it all off.

Timeless Tuesday Butterfly

Good morning and welcome back to another Timeless Tuesday challenge.
This weeks hostess is Cindy, and she is asking us to create a card or project with a Butterfly on it.

I really love butterflies and Flourishes has a few stamp sets with them, but I chose the butterfly from the "Butterflies and Blossoms" set. I love the full wings this butterfly has :)

When I used a butterfly from Flourishes "Butterflies and Blossoms" stamp set stamped in Memento "Rich Cocoa" onto Flourishes "Ivory" cardstock, that I colored in and heat embossed it many times for that muted antique look. I cut out the butterfly and popped it up on popdots. I stamped the flowers from the "Butterflies and Blossoms" in Memento "Desert Sand" onto a cicular diecut that I also popped up on popdots. I used some patterned paper and a decorative diecut, a May Arts "Ivory" Silk Ribbon bow and some bling.
