    Flourishes June Release Challenge!!

June is such a beautiful month!  At least in my neck of the woods it's full of green, and blooming outdoor colors and textures.  In just a few short days we'll be unveiling a new round of stamps at Flourishes inspired by the outdoors.  We're really excited to show them to you.  So today,  we're challenging you to be inspired by the TEXTURES of Nature!

HOW TO PLAY:  Create something with an outdoorsy texture in mind - or use an element from nature as part of your design.  It could be the texture in an embossing folder that has woodgrain, leaves or vines, it could be a leaf rubbing behind your image, something glossy like rain or shiny like a berry.  The interpretation is up to you!  If you play along with us, you could win Flourishes entire June Stamp Release!  If you upload to SCS please use the keyword FLLCJUN13.  You can enter as many times as you like, but we want you to know if you use your Flourishes stamps, your entry counts twice!  You have until Friday June 14, 2013 at 5 PM EST to enter.  Just be sure to enter your creation below using our InLinkz Widgit.  Enjoy exploring those nature textures!

I was inspired by the soft textures of baby chicks so I pulled out my Easter Wishes stamp set.

I stamped my Easter Wishes out on Classic White cardstock in Versafine Black Onyx ink on top of a Perfectly Pierced Classic Frames diecut. Then I colored my image in with Copics and mounted it on popdots on top of a Spellbinder die shape, which I matted some cardstock from the Color Made Easy in Rich Browns, behind it. I added some yellow flocking to my chick image for my texture and then used some Color Made Easy ribbon from the Sunflower collection in Antique Gold, a black button and some Metallic Silver String cording tied to a Tailor Made Classic Tag die with my sentiment from Easter Wishes, as my finishing touch.

How would you like to be inspired by our Senior Design Team before you get started?

Flourishes Favorites: Focus on the Guys!

Hello Flourishes Friday Friends!  Today we're going to continue on our theme of masculine cards that we began last week, giving you some more great inspiration for that guy in your life!   The Senior Design Team is picking any set in our Flourishes Stamp Collection and showing off their masculine designs to you today.  I now you'll be inspired and come away with some great manly ideas!

I used the Flourishes Father's Day set to make my card.

I used Father's Day that I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Classic White cardstock and sponged with Memento Desert Sand ink onto a Spellbinders Perfectly Pierced Frame diecut. Then I tied some Kraft Jute around my card and added a Black Button knotted on, then I matted my card with Flourishes Kraft and Classic Black cardstocks.

This will be Danielle's last Friday with us :(  We are going to miss her sweet spirit and her amazing designs! Please stop by her blog and leave her some love! :)
And don't forget our Designer Focus on the main blog.  Did you know you can have a chance to win a

All  you need to do is leave some love in the form of a comment on the blogs below! Why? You need to try to figure out who is the…

One of the ladies on our link list below will be picking a name from the comments on her blog post today. We don’t know which one it is… so the more blogs you leave comments on, the more chances you have to win!

The first time I'd ever seen a real tulip was in a bouquet my husband sent me when we were dating, and they were the most extraordinary pink I'd ever seen on a flower! So when I think of tulips, I think of those pretty pink ones, so I colored the single tulip like the bouquet I received.

I stamped out my Tulip image in Memento Rich Cocoa on Flourishes Classic White cardstock and chose not to heat emboss my image for a softer look. I colored my tulip in with Flourishes Lenten RoseGreen Grass and Olive Green Copic Collections. I cut out my image with Perfectly Pierced Victorian Ovals then matted it with Perfectly Pierced Classic Frames, to which I matted that with the largest Perfectly Pierced Victorian Ovals diecut. I placed all of my diecut layers on top of the large Romantic Rectangles and a Color Made Easy Pistachio cardstock to create my cardbase. I chose to use the Olive ribbon, a clear Sunflower button, some Metallic String and a diecut tag using the Tailor-Made Classic Tags die.
Because this is Day 1 of our release, I got carried away and made two cards, and this is my second one.
I stamped the Tulips out in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored them in with the EvergreenSunflower, and Beehive Copic Collections, then fussy cut it all out. I placed it on popdots over a Perfectly Pierced Frame diecut, matting it with paper from Teresa Collins and Sunflower cardstock from Color Made Easy. I used some Golden Rod ribbon from the Color Made Easy line, two Leaf Pins, an Ivory ButtonIvory Jute Twine and a Tailor Made Classic Tag, for my embellishments.

Before we get to the link list of talented ladies, you should know that if you like what you see on our designer's blogs, you can pre-order Tulips for Friends now right HERE! You can also order all three of our new releases as a part of our New Release Bundle! Click HERE to save 10% on our entire March release when you purchase all three sets in a bundle.

Timeless Tuesday: Poppy, Emerald & Rich Browns!

Good morning Flourishes Friends, it's Tuesday and we're back with another challenge for you. This week our hostess, Broni, is challenging us to: Use Poppy, Emerald and Rich Browns On Your Creations!
WOW! Ok, I have never used all of those colors all at once so this was a perfect challenge, for me!

Because these are some pretty bold colors I kept my card design very simple.

I used Flourishes "Flowers and Frames" stamp set stamped in Memento "Summer Sky" ink, to create my frame around the sentiment. The sentiment is from Flourishes "Mother's Words Of Wisdom" stamp set that I stamped in "Rhubarb Stalk" Memento ink. The blue and white DP is from Theresa Collins "Now & Then" paper pad, and layered with Flourishes Poppy, Emerald Coast and Rich Browns CS under it. I diecut a piece of vellum with a Spellbinders Perfectly Pierced Classic Frames die, and edged it with more Memento "Rhubarb Stalk"  ink and placed it under my sentiment and added some Color Made Easy "Basque Red" ribbon under it and added a flower to finish my card.

I have to say that I love this color combination and how they compliment each other so nicely! I may try another card with these colors again!
Please visit the rest of the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Team for more Poppy, Emerald & Brown creation inspirations!
