December Beautiful Blossoms Challenge : Thinking of You

Happy December!! We made it another year!! I can't tell you enough just how this year blew by me! And in a few days, we'll start 2026... 😬!

But enough about 2026. Let's talk about this month's photo inspiration challenge. I was surprised to see purple so predominantly featured, but I ended up enjoying the color switch up (I'm used to reds, greens, golds, etc.).

So, with that being said, I really started to think about which flowers can be purple. It's not like I have that many in my stash that could be purple. But then I found an old stamp from a company that has long since shut their doors, that I just knew would look spectacular in purple!
I chose Flourishes "Chrysanthemums" set and colored it in with Copics. I hit the flower with a few pink 'highlights' here and there, just to liven it up with a lighter color in it. Otherwise the purple was so dark, it was almost "black" in some areas. Then I die cut out the image with MFT's Stitched Rectangle die, then matted that on top of Bazzil's Admiral blue cardstock, then cut out a Scalloped Rectangle with MFT's dies again, to cut Tim Holtz's Silver Metallic Cardstock, to mat the whole card.

I have really enjoyed our year of creating together and I look forward to creating with you all next year! But until then, I'll be appreciating your inspired creations from this month's photo!
Happy New Year and I'll see you next year for some more challenges!!

Beautiful Blossoms Design Challenge : Congratulations

Where has the time gone? It's May already!

I haven't been as active on here as I'd like but I had to pick up a second job and that takes most of my crafting time away, sadly.

But this month I have another Beautiful Blossoms Challenge. I love to color in flowers, so I look forward to these monthly challenges! Here is the May 2025 inspiration photo.

So pretty! So many blues, purples, mauves, and peachy-orange flowers!

I stamped out Honey Bee Stamps "Simply Stated" stamps and colored them in with Copics. I diecut the image out with MFT Double Stitched Rectangle, and placed popdots under it so it will offer a slight 3D look because it's popped out. Then I matted the image with Bazzil's Mauve polka dot design paper diecut with MFT's Stitched Scalloped Rectangles.

I tried to add in some of the colors of the bouquet without it looking too bold with too much color. I think I hit just the right notes, and still have it look simple and uncomplicated.

Thank you for joining us at Beautiful Blossoms Monthly Challenge! We'll see you next month!

Fuchsia Flowers

I made a couple of watercolor Postcards just for fun, a while back and decided I should post them.

One of the Postcards I watercolored was of a Fuchsia vine. I decided I was going to use some pretty strong colors on the flowers instead of using some softer colors I would normally like to use for this image, for no reason other than to do something different.

I believe this is a stamp set from Stampendous or Heartfelt Creations I stamped and colored in using Distress Inks and my Aqua watercolor markers. After coloring the image, I sponged a background and border in with more Distress Inks.

This isn't the most prominent image I've ever made or anything, but there's beauty in the simplicity of all art and I love that. I love the shadows and colors I chose for the flowers. They're so unique and different, I love how it turned out, and if I tried to create those flowers again I'd never be able to duplicate them, and I love that.
