Let's get to the card, shall we?

I used a sentiment from Flourishes Hydrangea set that I stamped in Memento Danube Blue onto one of Flourishes Fresh Labels printable frames, which I then fussy cut out, and popped up onto popdots. I used two shades of blue from the Color Made Easy True Blue cardstock that I used to mat my card, and some Light Blue Silk Ribbon to for my card. I added two white glitter stars that I dabbed with Memento Nautical Blue and a couple Kaiser Aquamarine Rhinestones.

Timeless Tuesday : Go Natural

Good morning Flourishes Friends! It's Release Week again at Flourishes and they have a fun challenge and a Release Week sneak peak of the new "Inside and Out Just Because" set! The Flourishes Senior Design Team will be joining us this week, which is a real treat!

First of all, do you want to see a quick peak of the new set? Here it is!

Isn't it pretty? I know I'll be using it for everyone of those Just Because cards I always seem to need.

This weeks hostess is Denise, and she has challenged us to: Create A Natural Card from her inspiration challenge photo.

I love the soft cream hues of the photo, so I pulled out my new creamy canvas paper a nice texture and versatility.

I used Flourishes "Inside and Out Just Because" stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa ink on top of canvas paper. I stitched around the canvas paper then added a square lace applique, some crochet & paper flowers, ribbon and a pearl strand. I placed that on top of some kraft paper and added a punched border to finish.

Please visit the rest of the teams to gather more Flourishes Timeless Tuesday "Natural" inspirations!

Thank you for visiting and please have a great day!

Release Week Noontime Challenges: Go Natural!

Good afternoon and welcome to Flourishes Release Week Noontime Challenge: Go Natural!

Because this is a Go Natural challenge I kept everything extremely minimal and let the image itself shine.
I used Flourishes new "Naturally Merry" set  stamped on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock and colored in with Copics. The patterned papers are from Flourishes "Viola" 123 Kit and I used a Kraft cardstock accent.

I used the following Copic Collections:

This month I am showing off Flourishes October 123 Kit called "Viola" which is chock full of goodies! Keep an eye out for cards with the "Viola" kit all this month!

Flourishes Noontime Challenge: Country Road!

Welcome back to Day 2 of Flourishes Noontime Challenges! Today we are challenging you to:

Use your Favorite Country Road as inspiration for your card or creation! Take a photo and pick three colors in it, then use those three in your creation. When you upload to SCS, please use keyword: FLLCAUGRW2.

I live in the High desert of California, so the grass is brown most of the year for us. I chose to focus on the dusty dry hills and the many golden brown hues in my challenge inspiration photo.

For my three challenge colors, I chose to use dark brown, soft golden brown and a pop of blue to keep it all from looking too muddy. Keeping everything clean and simple.
I used Flourishes new "Country Roads" stamp set that I stamped in Memento "Rich Cocoa" ink onto some DP. Then I sponged around my image with some Memento "Desert Sand" and "Rich Cocoa" Ink. I matted it then added some Flourishes "Kraft Jute" and a small flower. Then I used my punches for interest on my two layers then matted my first layer onto my Kraft cardstock base.

Thank you for visiting, have a nice day, and please visit again!

Flourishes Noontime Challenge: A Bit Of Texture!

Good afternoon, it's time for my favorite part of Release Week, Noontime Challenges! Today Flourishes Noontime Challenge is:

A Tad Bit Of Texture! This challenge is all about giving your card or creation a little texture! Add an embossed design? Share a little glitter? How about Crystal Effects or a few sanded edges? This challenge is all about those little extras that give a card POP! When uploading to SCS, please use keyword: FLLCAUGRW1.

Here is my card for today's challenge.
I used Flourishes new stamp set "Garden Picks" that I watercolored in with Flourishes Letraset Aqua Markers, cut it out and popped it up on popdots. For my texture I added a fabric embellishment strip on top of a paper lace doily, and pearls to dress it up. I framed it all up with a card base made of some Spellbinder diecuts, cut from Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock.

Release Week Noon Challenge: Just Pop It!!

Welcome to June's Day One of Flourishes Release Week's Noontime Challenge! Today we are challenging you to: Pop It!

This challenge is all about adding dimension to your card or creation. Simply pop up an image on your card and you'll be in the running. What do we mean by giving your card pop? Isolate an area of your card and add dimension by cutting and popping up part of your image. For more information and how to play along, please visit the Flourishes Blog.
If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword FLLCJUNERW1. All entries must be in by Friday, June 15th to be in the running. The winner of this challenge gets Flourishes entire release for June!

I used Flourishes peaches image from the "Peaches and Cherries" set and the sentiment from "Seeds of Friendship". I colored my image in with watercolors, cut it out with a craft knife then popped it up on popdots. For the matting paper, I used Flourishes "Classic Ivory" cardstock, added some patterned paper, paper lace doily, a round die cut and some pearls to finish my card.
( I apologize for the odd reflective look on my leaves, I had to take the picture outside; so the light is reflecting off of them).

Please check out the rest of the Flourishes design team for more Noon Time "Pop It" inspirations! Remember, if you play along you will be in the running to win the entire June Release!  Good Luck! :)

Wild Honey

It's Release week at Flourishes and during the week they offer up challenges at noon, that you can enter to try to win their newest releases!! Today's noon challenge is: Name Game!
The idea is that you take your First, Middle and Last initials to come up with creations that has things that start with your initials :)
Mine are:

A ~ Adhesive (Couldn't think of anything that started with "A")
N ~ Neutrals
H ~ Honey (a bit of a stretch so I used a stamp set with "honey" in it)

I used Flourishes "Bee My Honey" stamp set, colored in with Copics. I used a Spellbinders Butterflies diecut, cut from an old Hambly paper & a My Mind's Eye Lost & Found paper under that. I used the Spellbinders Classic Lace die to make my lacy border, to which I added pearls. I embossed a single frame around my card matting, at the end.

I apologize for the color and clarity of my picture. I had to keep the lighting low so you could see the embossed frame around my card.

I kept everything, including the coloring of my picture, very light. To keep with the neutral "rule" and I love it. I really hemmed and hawed about adding the pearls, since I seem to add pearls to everything I do. But I think I will keep adding them to my cards, and not worry about them being over used. Besides, I love them too much to give them up, it's what makes me happy - LOL  ;)

Happy Mother's Day!!

I'm sure you may have noticed I've been "Out to Lunch" for a while. Well, I am excited to say that I have been "training" for my second Revlon Walk/Run for Women's Cancer, tomorrow!!! It's a 3K, and I have been training hard, walking 8 miles a day so I can be in tip-top condition to beat my time of 1 hour 44 minutes, last year. It's not a contest, but I want to get more exercise and raise awareness too. Many may or may not know but we lost my sister-in-law, Julie, last January to Breast & Bone cancer, so this is pretty important to me. I am also walking for our family friend Sue Larson, who passed away in February, and a young 16 year old lady who has a rare form of cancer, who is the niece of my favorite LSS owner. My husband and two girls (one will be in a stroller - LOL ) will be with me this year :) I say all that to also say that some will not be able to have a Mother's Day this year, so please remember to hug your Mom today :)

So since I have been absent Flourishes has thrown down a few challenges. One is Bring Back Beautiful "The Beauty of A Flower" and a Release Week "Word To Your Mother" Challenge. So I was able to combine two of them into my Mom's Mother's Day card.

I used Flourishes "Cherry Blossoms" flowers and the sentiment from "Spring Bouquets" colored in with Tombows, cut out and popped up on popdots. The paper is from Graphic 45 Baby 2 Bride "Endless Love" and the last pieces of a Melissa Francis decorative edge paper. The pearls are from Kaisercraft. I used the following Spellbinders:

Classic Square
Lacy Square
Fleur de Lis
Large Scalloped Circles
and a Corner Rounder

I am happy with how the card came out, I had quite a few glitches on it :) The inside joke is that every card I make has a mistake on it, the trick is to hide what went wrong. This one I forgot to do two things, one being to stitch along the edge of my DP and to add my coordinating cardstock under the DP!! Hopefully Mom won't notice - LOL! :) I hope you can see the Melissa Francis decorative edged paper in the back ground, it's So Hard to photograph! If I have time this weekend, I'll try to retake it so you can see it better. My hasty picture isn't doing it enough justice as it looks better in person.

It feels good to be creative again, and I'm glad to be back :) I hope to balance the great exercise progress but still have enough time and energy to make cards!

Happy Mother's Day, Ladies!!! May you have a Weekend/Day worthy of all you do! You deserve it, speaking as a mother myself !! :)

Update: I took another pic, but that one washed out the coloring and you couldn't even see the decorative edges along the card :( So I changed it back to the original card picture :)
